The multi-media version of Che's Bolivian diary also includes original handwritten documents, testimonies, photos, maps, statements and images directly related to the internationalist guerrilla fighter. The CD-ROM is the result of efforts undertaken by Cuba's multi-media production team, in cooperation with Abril and Politica Publishing Houses. Abril's Director, Iroel Hernandez, said the creators of the CD-ROM hope to spread the message of the Cuban Revolution through one of its main protagonists. The developers plan to donate the CD-ROM to several local educational centers, such as the National Library, the Children's Pioneer Palace and the island's computer clubs. Havana is also the site of the international meeting "Che: Man of the Year 2000," gathering scholars from around the world. Aleida Guevara, daughter of Che Guevara, addressed the participants and discussed her father's theory on creating the new man and woman. She also talked about Che's concepts on foreign policy. In the Argentinean city of Rosario -- the birthplace of Ernesto Che Guevara -- a huge poster of the smiling Heroic Guerrilla welcomed thousands of participants to the International Seminar on his life. The meeting, which will run through October 5th, will delve into Che Guevara's contribution to the struggle for socialism and his strategy of social transformation. Thousands of Uruguayans crowded into the Penarol Palace in downtown Montevideo to pay tribute to the internationalist fighter on Thursday -- the first day of an entire week of activities paying tribute to Ernesto Che Guevara. In Peru, trade union and student organizations met in Lima to discuss the life and work of the Argentinean-born revolutionary. A major concert is also being planned at University Park in the Peruvian capital. And in Paraguay, solidarity with Cuba groups and trade unions are organizing colloquiums, concerts, art exhibits and showings of documentary films paying tribute to Comandante Che Guevara. Endorsed by Cuban Foreign Minister Roberto Robaina and Farouk Khadoumi, head of the Palestine Liberation Organization's Department of Political Affairs, the agreement establishes the basis for economic and scientific-technical cooperation, with special emphasis on education, culture, health, agriculture and sports. Meeting during the current session of the United Nations General Assembly, the two diplomats announced the creation of a Cuba-Palestine inter-governmental commission. The organization will meet every two years to discuss further development of relations. During a simple ceremony, held in a conference room at UN headquarters in New York, the Cuban foreign minister emphasized that the struggle of the Palestinian people has long been a major concern of the Cuban Revolution and expressed his country's full support and solidarity with the Palestinian cause. TOURISM CONTINUES TO HOLD PROMISING PROSPECTS FOR CUBA Havana, October 3(RHC)-- According to the Cuban Tourism Ministry, more than 860,000 foreign visitors have travelled to the island so far this year. Figures released Friday in the Cuban capital show that this represents a 19.2 percent growth compared to the same period last year -- and well above predictions of an 18 percent increase. At a Havana news conference, Alejandro Louro of the Cuban Tourism Ministry reported that the Fall tour season in Cuba is proceeding as scheduled and that the Winter season promises to be even better. In line with that forecast, various high- ranking tourism officials recently traveled to Spain, Italy, Canada, France and Germany -- the island's main tour markets. The Tourism Ministry official pointed out that with such a stable flow of visitors, Cuba will be able to easily meet its planned goal of welcoming one million 190 thousand foreign visitors this year.
